When engine/transmission is cold car has plenty of drive to rear wheels, it could probably spin tires on dry pavement. After about 1 min there is a slight grinding sound that lasts about 1 min from trans/ torque converter area, then it slowly loses drive until car cannot move- forward or reverse. Is this a torque converter problem?

Hi fredson
Think you right on with torque convertor. Probably the stator and/or pump. Pull pan if it is full of shinny metal shavings then your convertor lunched. Down side is a rebuild is necessary.
Good Luck
