1994 Chevy Blazer

Hi:
The fast blinking indicates a burnt bulb or the bulb isn't making a connection. Check the socket. Also, if both lights are out, make sure a fuse didn't blow. Also, make sure the front signal lamp is good. Finally, is the rear light socket part of a printed circuit or does it have individual sockets seperate from each other?

yeah the passenger side rear socket is not very tight and there was some tan colored sticky residue inside both rear sockets. the front lights work with no issues. there is one bulb for reverse lights and one for running light, signal and brake. i only replaced the one for running signal and brake on both sides rear only. the fuse is good. thanks

The tan stuff is most likely an electrical grease used to keep things dry and corrosnion free. Have you checked the socket with a test light to see if you are getting power to it?

yes i have power to it it works intermittently. the brake light works which is the same bulb i dont get it any ideas

If I had to guess, there must be a damaged wire between the tail lights and the power supply. It could be a break in the wire that is internal making contact at times and not at others. Make sure the body grounds are ok. If they are and you're sure you have a good ground, the last thing to do is trace the wiring looking for the problem (which is a pain). Before you co crazy doing that make absolute sure the sockets are good.
