Engine Mechanical problem
1990 Chevy Blazer V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 178*** miles

the three bolts/studs which connect the drivers side manifold outlet to thedrivers side y- pipe have all snapped. Now, they do come out , right????? and I'll need to heat them up and try to vise grip them out???? or should I just try to take the whole exhaust manifold off and replace it?? But then I'll worry about snapping a manifolr bolt.. I'm disabled and need to try to do this the easiest, surest way.. Thank you...

They do come out BUT as you have discovered they can be a PIA. What I have done in the past was to heat the parts up red hot then rub a cheap candle on the exposed parts. The wax will melt and follow the threads and in some cases frees the rusted parts. Another possible solution would be to find some of those manifold repair clamps that are available. They basically look like a deep C clamp with tapered tips on both points. Or you could try removing the entire manifold. BUT you will probably break a few bolts off.
