1988 Chevy Blazer Replaced Fuel Pump - Now Oil and Fuel Gau

The Blazer would not start and no fuel was being sent to the throttle body. I replaced the fuel pump and the Blazer starts fine now. But the gas gauge reads past full with the key on or off and the oil pressure gauge reads max when cranked. After turning off the engine the oil pressure gauge slowly drops. I can disconnect the fuel sending unit connector near the rear left tire from the sending unit and the fuel gauge goes even further past full.

As far as the fuel gage sending unit. With pump connector loose, key on, If you ground the pink wire, the gage should move to empty, if it does, the sending unit has a problem. If it stays at full no matter what, there is an open circuit between gage and sending unit. I can't rule out the electrical connector, itself.

I will try grounding the pink wire this afternoon.
