1986 Chevy Blazer V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I HAVE A CHEVY 350 BORED 60 OVER FOR OFF ROAD RACING.THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH PERFORMANCE IS HESITATION ON TAKE OFF. THE PUZZELING PART IS I HAVE TO RUN 50 DEGREE MINIMUM TIMING. ALSO I CAN TURN THE TIMING DOWN TO 30 DEGREES OR HIGH AS 90 DEGREES AND IT DOES NOT EFFECT THE CRANKING SPEED OF THE ENGINE. ALSO WHEN I INSTALLED THE DOUBLE ROLLER CAM GEARS WITH THE # 1 CYL. ON COMPRESSION STROKE THE DOTS ON THE CAM GEAR AND THE CRANK GEAR ARE 180 DEGREES OUT. HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF A CAM GROUND TO PERFORM THIS WAY?

if your timing was at 50 degrees you would brun nice big holes in your pistons. it may read that but you might try seeing what the timing is on #6 instead. it sounds like the cam is timed wrong to the cylinder. Also if it were timed that high you'd have a hell of atime starting it as the cranking speed would be hard to turn over unless you did something with the springs in the distributor. cam grinders don't screw up .
