As soon as I try to stay at a constant 50, 55 or higher is bucks and rides like crap. It will be a little sluggish when I try to accelerate also. I did plugs, wires and fuel filter already. I dont know what else it could be. Its AS SOON AS I hit 50 it bucks like crazy. But if I stay at a constant 45, 40, 30 its fine.

I think that you may have a torque convertor problem, are u sure that your wires are in correct order?

At 50mph the torque converter lock up should engage-do below if not it were right back to the tranny.

Check the throttle position sensor closed and WOT voltages could be a weak spot on it. Also follow it with a fuel pressure check with and w/o the pressure regulator.

Service engine light on yet? check codes like this.

https://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/62217_95_OlderGM_23.jpg

Cross these two terminals as shown, then turn the key on. Count the flashes, a 22 will flash as 2 flashes then a short pause, then 2 flashes, if more than one code is stored, the pause will be longer. The codes will display three times and end with 12. Write them down and post here. This connector is right under the middle of the dash...

There is no check engine light on. Will there still be codes even without the light on? And I also notice that when you first start it up its a rough idle then after a few minutes it will go back to normal. I dont know if that information could help.

there should still be codes stored. but I don't know if you could get that info. doing it the manual way, you may have to have it scanned.

i have kinda a similar problem. mine when i get between 50 and 75 mine will act like its stalling when i try to accelerate. then if i let off the gas pedal and re-accelerate its fine for a little. like a bypass of the problem. haven't done a tune up but not quite sure what i need to tune up other than plugs and wires.

Good Afternoon

Another possible issue could be the cat converter being clogged not allowing the engine to breather. The test is done by removing the O2 sensor and inserting a back pressure gauge to verify.

You could also remove the O2 sensor and drive it and see if it is any better
