1995 Chevy Beretta engine overheating

my car recently developed a leak in the top radiator hose which i replaced now its still saying low coolant and it heats up so what could be wrong now and i am not sure where the engine fuses are in this car and can a blown fuse cause this problem cause the stereo wont work now either and the fuses in the inside door panel are okay

is it actually overheating or you think its overheating because that is what the temp gauge says?

the temp gauge jumped to high and when i turned the heater on it jumped back down but then slowly was going back up

so that doesnt necessarily mean your vehicle is overheating, first thing we need to do is verify that the radiator, fan is good, you can do this by hardwiring it directly to the battery. once we figured that its good, then check or change the engine coolant temp sensor, that is what tells the gauge how hot it is. but before that, I want you to change the thermostat, to make sure everything is flowing to where it needs to be.
