2006 Chevy Aveo Automatic 46000 miles

My key is stuck in the igntion and will not realease. My shifter will also not move from park unless I put a key in the shift lock release hole. But once I put it back in park it locks in place...

this might help,found a bulletin for this problem.Subject: Automatic Transaxle/Transmission Shift Lever May Not Shift Out of Park (Replace Brake Transaxle Shift Interlock (BTSI) Solenoid)

2004-2007 Chevrolet Optra (Canada Only)

2005-2006 Pontiac Wave (Canada Only) Some customers may comment on either of the following conditions:

• The automatic transaxle shift lever may not shift out of the park position and the ignition key cannot be removed (North American vehicles only).

• The automatic transaxle shift lever may not shift out of the park position (vehicles outside of North America only). Replace the brake transaxle shift interlock (BTSI) solenoid. 96858794
