I am having the EXACT same issue. Same car, mine is a 2005 Aveo 5 Door with 86,000+ on it. I was going to go through the car this summer and try to figure out where the short is, but have not done so yet. If you are having the EXACT same issue, I wonder if it is a problem in the fuse block. I can garuntee you that it has nothing to do with jumping the car since I never have jumped mine, or had cables on it and this problem still happened. If anyone on this board has any ideas, that would be fantastic. I will continue to check here, and if I find the solution, I will post it for sure.
