I have for over a year had my check engine light on. I immediately took it to a dealer back when it 1st came on and they told me that it was a O2 sensor on my Catalytic converter, and they said it was nothing major that it will start to backfire, bog down, putter etc... when it became a problem. So I ignored it. However several times over the year, I would take it in to get the oil changed or other things and I would ask them to verify that it was the O2 sensor that was flagging my check engine light. And 3-4 times they said it was, and again not to worry about it.
So now its time to get the car inspected and it wont pass with a check engine light on. So I took it to a shop and they said it was now the Catalytic converter code popping up on the display. So after talking it up, I decided I would change out the 02 sensors, and I did (all 4 of them). The light was still on. So then I went down and had a catalytic converter put on. Still the light is on. What else can it be. There doesn't seem to me any exhaust leak. I am running out of ideas. Please help.
