I have a 1993 chevy astrovan with 152,000 miles 4.3 liter v6. It started popping through the intake so I replaced the sparkplugs and fuel filter. It seemed not to pop much after that but now have a problem blowing the ecm 1 fuse. I replaced the ecm 1 fuse and turned the ignition key on and it blew the ecm 1 fuse again right away. Everytime I put in a new fuse and turn on the ignition key the fuse blows for the ecm 1 immediately. Any help would be greatly appreciated. NEVER MIND!!!! Fixed it myself no thanks to you two who don't answer questions. The Fuel injector wire had rubbed against the breather ring and shorted out against the throttle body caused the ecm 1 fuse to blow all the time. Thanx anyways.

Which end of the bolt did you heat? Heat the tranny end. and only just a little! those ears do break!

I have the same problem on a '98 F150 with V6. I get the stud and nut that has the ground wire removed very easily. But the other bolt will not budge.

rtaylor, were you successful in removing yours? Did heating the tranny end work?

I am having problems removing the starter. I can get the stud and nut out but I can't remove the other bolt that holds the starter. I almost rounded off the head trying to turn it.

The odd thing is that I can wiggle the starter a little bit, so it doesn't seemed to be seized to the bolt.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If all wires are disconnected, a last resort would be to snap the bolt off and extract the remainder...
