dutch doors will not open?

I have a 1995 chevy astro van with dutch doors. Recently the doors will not open. When I push the release button I can hear the click but it will not open. I can't even open them with the key. It seems like it is jammed. What could be the problem?

If you are talking about the upper hatch not opening, it may be that one of the latch control rods came loose from the release motor. Had it happen on both my 1996 and 2000. There is an access hole behind the upper hatch pull handle. Remove the pull handle which also holds the cover. Once the cover is removed, you will see an arm with a white retainer and probably no rod stuck in it. The rod tends to pop out and falll behind the arm. You have to get the rod back to the other side of the arm and snap it back in. Note the hole is very small and hard to work in.
