1) Engine starts intermiittently, will crank over but no start. I checked for spark and there is spark, the plug is also wet. I can hear the fuel pump prime up. Engine sputters at the first key turn. There is pressure at the fuel test point but not sure if it is within 51-59 psi.

2) When engine does start, it idles nicely but when I step on the gas the engine boggs out to almost a stall until I take my foot of the pedal, returns to idle.

I changed the starter modual, MAP sensor, new fuel filter and new pump. I also adjusted the Throttle position sensor which made an improvment but still missing power when stepping on gas once i got going.

Have you checked the timing. I had a vehicle do that once. spent about 2000 dollars and two years working on it an found out that the timing was off.

Thanks all,

1)The timing may not be an issue with this engine the distributor is screwed into one place, it has only one fitting. Engine ran perfect before sitting for 4 months. How could the timing change?

2) If the ERG valve was stuck then the idle would be really rough.

3) I cleaned the temp sensor and no difference, I can change it out to be sure

4) There are no visible vacuum lines going to the planum intake. Only 2 fuel lines. I believe the regulator is electronicly controlled as its part of the injector assembly which is powered. That woud be the last thing to change as it is very difficult to get to.

That would lead to the injectors not getting enough voltage since they are piezo electric injectors, if they don;t have the right amount of voltage they will not operate properly and start burping fuel. I checked my alternator and its cold after running and I hear no drian on it when I turn my light's on. With the volt meter on the battery and engine running for 15 minutes, i saw a drain on the charged battery, >11.45V then the engine realy started to hicup when I gave it gas.
I believe the alternator is not providing enough voltage to the injectors. I will replace alternator and let you all know the results.
