1999 Chevy Astro Jerks into 2nd

Transmission problem
1999 Chevy Astro 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 135K miles

Rebuilt 2 years ago, now all of a sudden. It will jerk into 2nd. As though the shift is slow, or it locks the converter momentarily

Has the check engine light come on? To me it sounds like a faulty shift solenoid. However, I need to know if the light came on at any point.

Yes, but intermittently. Code reader shows lean fuel on one side of the engine(or other, didn't say which.)

Tranny quit acting strangely after cooling off, ???

I don't know if that model has a kickdown cable, but if it does, it could have moved slightly out of adjustment.
