I was bleeding my brakes after installing a new master cylinder. The front brakelines ruptured. The dealer said the line was corroded.
Is the brakeline made of aluminum? If so, dosn't this cause an electrolitic action of steel against aluminum?
$700 to replace the front lines.

What I am trying to find out is it a normal practice for GM to use Aluminum for the break lines? Sure I can use a magnet but I want to know if this is a normal thing.

to check if its aluminum or not take a magnet and stick it on the rear brake line, if it sticks its steen if it dont stick chances are its aluminum.

you can replace aluminum wiht steel but i dont suggest it as the steel may not hold up as well.
