does this happen in cold weather? warm weather, as long as engine hasnt been warm?

how longs it take before it starts to clear up?

list everything youve checked and replaced.

Happens in cold weather, especially cold/wet...

Takes approx 15-20 minutes of running - actual driving to clear up...

6-8 months ago had a major tune up with plugs/plug wires/distributor/rotor replaced...

It had all original parts in it at 167,000 miles...

sounds to me like you should be checking out the engine temp sensor and make sure its in specs, also check out the intake air temp sensor.

This all began several weeks ago when I noticed the van running rough when cold and would be fine when it warmed up...

On 11/13 I went out to start the van and "click"...I thought it was the starter and it was...

Had AAA tow the van into the shop and the starter was replaced...

This van is used commercially for our lawn greetings business and we need to have it up and running...But, unfortuantely, I'm no mechanic...

I then had then check out why the van was running rough...They replaced the ignition rotor and distributor cap and no more running rough...

They also read the codes and found - P0456 EVAP Leak Monitor Small Leak Detected - How critical is this to be replaced or checked out???

On the test drive, it was noticed that there may be a problem with the alternator...The gauge was registering 14 or better when running and then would drop to 12 or less when stopping...

Alternator replaced...Expensive week, I'll tell ya...

What I don't understand is the rotor/distributor cap replacement...This was just replaced 6-8 months ago when we had the MAJOR tuneup...How long do they normally last???

The only thing that wasn't replaced, tuneup related, at that time was the fuel filter...They say it is fused on and if it isn't causing a problem to wait until it is...

Also found was a crack in the front stabilizer bar...How critical is this to be replaced???

P0456 isnt too bad but you wont pass emission testing like that, it can also cause rough idle.

i would check to make sure the gas cap is on tight and still in proper order. then check all the vaccum lines for the evap system for tears. it can be a very tiny hole that will cause that code to show up.

a tune up should last at least 30,000 miles.

with the stabilizer bar crack eventually it will break. when it does it will make a loud noise when hitting bumps and your performance in handling will be greatly decreased.
