1996 Chevy Astro Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I am changing the engine for a friend and all the vans i have worked on before had a crossmember that you could unbolt and remove but this one doesnt. I have been told that i need to cut the crossmember and i can get a kit to drill and bolt it back in place or that i can pull the engine through the doghouse and neither idea sounds fun. are either of these the right way or is there another way to do it?

Yes you should be able to get a kit. Pulling a engine out of a Astro is horrible and a pain in the rear. Not worth the time for a 96 if you ask me.
