Welcome to the forum. How long since a tune-up? Check fuel pressure, some of the national brand autostores used to loan fuel pressure gage. You can call and ask. Also, check for trouble-codes, see if anything shows up?

On highway last it started to lose power but then push it to floor or if i feathered gas pedal would run ok but as soon as i would come to a light would stall or almost stall then had to play with pedal again to get it going then i shut it off and it wouldn't start again

Sorry for the late come-back, I've been having computer issues. If it cranks good, but, won't start, have a helper crank it, while you check for spark at the plugs. You can pull a spark plug boot, stick known good plug in the boot, ground metal part of plug to metal part of engine, watch for spark. If that checks out, check fuel pressure. Did you try checking for codes? You place a jumper wire between A & B terminals of datalink connector, then turn the key till dash lites come on, no further. The mil starts flashing, you count the lashes to get the codes. Your looking for two digit codes. The picture below is generic GM obd1 datalink connector, just to show location of terminals A & B.
