I just bought the van and the only issue I can see is the oil gauge. Oil is good and clean looking, no water or gas in it and the level is correct. Where should I start to begin to fix this issue? THANKS in advance!

Is there any knocking noises ? if not check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge if normal replace the oil pressure sending unit. Abnormal could mean oil pump and engine bearings etc.

There is no knocking of any kind at an idle or when in drive. I drove the van about 10 miles before buying it and then about 25 miles home. The van has been well maintained all around and the actual owner is in NY and I bought it from his father who didn't drive the van, so he didn't even know the gauge was not working (son is not available to ask due to out of country).

I thank you again for the quick reply and will look into making a donation soon. I'm a female and have no car savvy guys friends to ask questions too so this forum is a god send...lol.

My boyfriend was recently diagnosed with leukemia so he's not much into working on cars and the rest of the guys I know are too busy or too good to work on cars...lol. (You sound like you know what your doing... too bad your so far away or I could offer the 6-pack/smokes to you)

Anyway- can you tell me how I can donate some cash as I only seen it when posted my original post... and can't seem to locate another way
