Check Hybrid System light has come on. I can still drive the car without any issues. No acceleration problems, no noises, no smoke, etc. I have heard you may need to replace the battery, but it's super expensive and I would like to avoid that if at all possible. Any tips on what is wrong/what I should do? Also, is it okay if I just continue to drive it normally? Thanks!

I can't say for sure what you need to do without knowing the codes in the system. Now there is a way to get a battery reconditioned and not replaced. Go to hybridshop.com. It will help you locate an independent shop that is qualified to do the reconditioning. Typically the cost of this is about $1500-$2000 compared to $5000 new. Thats also saying that your battery is actually the issue. It can sometimes be the hybrid computer (ECU). (I am a prior highlander hybrid owner and current chevy volt owner).
