So, these are two separate problems.

P0463 - Fuel Level Sensor Circuit High Input:

P0725 - Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction:

Please start a new thread for the P0725 code as we handle one problem per post.

Can I ask if the fuel gauge is working? It might work intermittently as well which is difficult to tell sometimes. The needle may waver slightly. If so, I would replace the fuel pump module which will come with the level sensor. The sensor might be offered separately so you will need to check for this. Here is how the part is changed out so you can see what needs to be done to fix it. Clear the codes once the job is complete. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

It works the majority of the time. Since having the SUV it's only did it twice. The gauge will be where it should then will drop down as if there is no gas in the car. But the indicator on the dash will flash and tell me how many miles i have on the car until the hand started to slowly move back up.

Yep, it sounds like the sensor is going bad in the tank, when it gets bad enough, I would replace the fuel pump module.

Hi,

The code is related to the engine speed vs the vehicle speed. In other words, the engine speed (RPMs) are too low when compared to the vehicle speed. This is measured while the vehicle is driven, and the engine control module is communicating with the transmission control module. My first suspect is a can-bus open circuit, broken wire, faulty connection, or something similar.

This code requires diagnostics. It could be a connector issue, a can-bus/communication issue, a wiring issue, and so on as I mentioned. I attached the diagnostics below for you to review. Take a look through them and let me know if this is something you are comfortable performing.

Take care,

Joe
