check engine light turning off

My check engine light came on about a month ago and I took it to AutoZone to get the code, and it was a P0299 which has something to do with the turbo. But, a couple of days later the light went off. The light came on again about a week ago, but has just turned off again. Should I still get it looked at, or does the light going off mean the problem is not that serious?

Regardless if the check engine stays on or goes off a code has been stored.Could be the same code or possibly a new one.I would definitely have it checked.Here is a tutorial showing what is involved:

As far as code P0299- turbo under boost is detected.You might be having a problem with the boost pressure sensor. I've attached a description below.Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
