Shop gave me codes p0440, p0441, p0446, said car needs canister, purge valve and fill cap. Quoted $1,625.00 parts and labor. Is the cost reasonable? Is it worth it to even fix? :-(

Canister purge valves are common to get stuck open and pull a constant vacuum on the tank, thus with a full tank it has the capability of pulling in raw fuel and filling the canister. But most common is when you go to have your vehicle’s oil changed and the technician checks your air filter and doesn’t re-connect your vacuum lines to your purge valve.

$1,625.00 is way out of the question imo.

Thank you, but he was saying we needed a whole new canister, a new purge valve (isn't that a separate item?), new vent valve and filler cap. I was picturing these were all separate items, no?
