I have had a tuneup, changed acuater rod bushings, had all the upper intake manifold seals replaced, and egr valve yesterday the DPFE sensor was replaced along with the PCV. The code coming up last 3 times walight from going s p0401. What else should my shop do to keep checking engine light from going off same day or next day after doing repairs. I wonder if they did not check the EGR valve tube for blockage? Are there other vaccum hoses that can cause this problem.. I bought a mass air flow sensor just in case it needs replacing. It seems that just relapsing parts has not helped. Please give me an idea to share with my mechanics at AAMCO transmission

I am going back to AAMCO and let them scan the vehicle. If the same P401 comes up I will have them try this tip and also blow out the egr valve tube. Can there just be anice electronic problem that keeps the check engine light going on. Years ago I had a Chevy Corsica that kept having work done and we could never get the light to go off for years.

if you don't like AAMMCO you can try another service station/center. the egr tube has to be cleaned with carb cleaner and a brush to fit into it not blown out. and that may not be a cure all either. if egr is old clean that as well.

The egr valve was replaced 2 weeks ago and the DPFE sensor and PCV yesterday. Check engine light came back on after I drove it 3 times total of maybe 10 miles.

I do like AAMCO they have just had a problem getting the check engine light to keep from coming on. With a P401 code coming on my question is besides cleaning the egr tube is there something else it could be with all that I have already done.

this could be a bad pcm as well. what I sent was a consensus of what other mechanics have run into the same problem. you might check for good vacuum hoses going to dpfe as well as no air leaks like engine grommets. Other than that I don't know what to tell you. also check your battery for condition including load test and moisture in dpfe as that can cause it . Not so much battery but moisture
