Check engine light came on. Received a $7E8 and $7E9 code. What could this mean?

Sorry, there are no such codes. Maybe you wrote them down wrong? All codes will with the letter B,C,P, or U and then followed by four digits. If you can reconfirm the code numbers and get back to us we would be happy to help. The auto parts store chain AutoZone will check for free. If you don't have access to a scanner or code reader most auto parts stores have a tool loaner program and can rent you one.Here is a tutorial showing what is involved to check codes:
