The check engine light keeps coming on. My son changed all four sensors and the EGR valve and a code comes up P0405. He also cleaned the carbon out we change the air filter and still comes on. I sometimes drive it for a day with out it coming on. And pop here it comes. Need to get my truck inspected please help.

The code indicates an EGR issue. Here is a video on how to check it:

I have also attached a picture of one to help you locate it. Note: The code is generic. However, I would recommend confirming it works properly. Also, make sure the wiring to the EGR is in good condition, not damaged, corroded. A poor connection can cause a false reading to the ECM.

One last thought, remove the EGR and make sure there is not a carbon build up.

How many miles do I have to drive after the check engine light is off? Before I get it inspected?

Once the codes are cleared you will need to drive it long enough for the monitors to reset which is about 50 miles.
