Check engine light turn

I'm not sure what you mean. I understand that bad gas can cause a misfire resulting in the check engine light coming on, but you have me confused with the 5000 miles. Please explain.

Also, if the check engine light is staying on, you should have the computer scanned to identify diagnostic trouble codes. That could point us to a specific cylinder causing a problem. Often times, a parts store will scan the computer for free or lend or rent you a scanner. Here is a quick video showing how one is used:

Let me know exactly what the vehicle is doing, if you had it scanned, and what was wrong with the fuel you purchased.

It's fine now. i siphoned the bad gas out and put new gas in and after that about 6 hours or less the check engine light turned off and runs fine.
