Check auto gear box?

The car has been making rattling noises for 6 years, but when I put it in manual mode, it didn't make any noise and run very smooth the problem is when i drive in automatic mode slowly stop and go car pop up message check auto gearbox and the car does not go in reverse. i switched of the car and back on and is normal again. i put it in computer to check speed sensor one speed sensor 2, but the next week the message popped up again. i put it in the computer and it said clutch 1 shot circuit to earth.
i try and drive manual mode in any gear and it is fine without rattle noise in any gear higher or lower. My car is 6 speed gar box dry clutch. what do you think?
