Hello, I'm Danny.

I've attached below step-by-step removal pictures. Here is a tutorial for your EVAP and emission system for you to view.

I'm sorry but a general way of removing a vapor canister from cars does not help me to remove a canister from my car. I need an exact step by step method of removing a canister from a 2009 Hyundai Sonata. The canister is in a tight, somewhat hard spot, behind the fuel tank, partially blocked by the rear sway bar. Thanks, anyway.

I couldn't find instructions to do this particular job anywhere online.I think that many weekend mechanics couldn't do this job.The canister sits on top of and is blocked by the back inner frame of the car.The back inner frame has to be lowered while the car is on a lift. Then, you can remove the little metal bracket that holds the canister in place.Hyundai has made simple jobs very difficult on the 2009 Sonata. I let my mechanic do the job for $272.00 for labor. Another example is replacing the alternator, which is beneath the power steering pump, which has to be loosened and moved over.Good luck to anyone working on a 2009 Hyundai Sonata.
