changing transmission fluid?

How do you do a drain and fill on these?

Hi,

These are a little trickier than normal. You will need something that can pump the fluid upward into the transmission.

If you look below, I attached the directions. Let me know if you have questions that I can answer.

Also, note that there is a replaceable filter. You would need to remove the pan to access it, but I would recommend it gets replaced at the same time.

So, these do not need to be at a certain temperature? Filling from below is not an issue, i have several adapters. But do i start it then and disconnect the adapter and install the plug?

Hi,

If you are draining the fluid only, it should be approximately 4 quarts. Start by adding 2 quarts and top off from there.

When checking the fluid level, make sure the vehicle is on a flat surface. Next, start the engine and shift it through all gears.

Next, the trans temperature should be approximately 100 degrees F. I use an infrared thermometer to test the pan temperature. Once at 100 degrees, I continue adding until the fluid begins to drip from the fill tube you installed. This is done with the engine running.
