I was told when you change the ABS Control Unit I would have to use a special device to bleed the lines. I have watched the video and it did not say anything about bleeding the lines after. Can you explain if what I have been told is true or not?

There are a couple of different procedures one is for with stability track and one is without stability track both require a scan tool to perform a automated bleed procedure. That would require a professional scan tool.

Also, what is a professional scan tool? When I look it up on YouTube it shows me a code reader. Could you give me the make and model of the scan tool I need?

Are you replacing the ebcm? there are a lot of different professional scan tools they are the ones professional mechanics use at shops to fix cars. They are expensive the one I have is $2,400.00 plus tax.

If the part your changing is called the ebcm electronic brake control module then no bleeding is necessary. But you have to use a scan tool to go in and set up the tire size after replacing it. Do you have a part number of the part your replacing?

A professional scan tool does a lot of things a diyer scan tool/code reader does not.Like abs bleeds, evaporator leak tests, commanding solenoids on and off, relearning new parts you replace programming keys and remotes and many many other things. Depending on the scan tool and how much money you have to spend.

That is the EBCM and you do not have to bleed the brakes, but you will have to have the tire size set up with a professional scan tool.
