Hi,

Since the issue started when you replaced the crankshaft position sensor, the first thing I need you to check for is spark to the spark plugs. If the sensor is the issue, there won't be spark.

Here is a link that explains how to check:

Also, let me know if you have a live data scan tool. If you do, check to see if there is an RPM signal when cranking the engine.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe

I do I put the old crank in and it works but it's running sluggish up hills. Also runs rough at lights and possibly shuts off or loses power up hills. is that crank shaft position sensor bad?

Hi,

Honestly, I doubt the crank sensor is causing that. Have you checked fuel pressure? Have you checked for engine vacuum leaks? Have you checked to see if there are any diagnostic trouble codes stored in the system?

What you described can be caused by a few different things. A weak fuel pump, partially plugged catalytic converter, engine vacuum leaks, faulty coolant temperature sensor and so on.

If you haven't already, check to see if there are any stored diagnostic trouble codes. Here is a quick video showing how it's done:

Most parts stores will scan it free of charge, so I recommend having that done.

If you are unable to, let me know. We will need to check one thing at a time.

Let me know and don't worry, we'll figure it out together.
