Change oil or transmission

Transmission slips and has signs of metal filings in it.
Question is, can i change oil and make it work again, or should I get a pickNpull transmission and replace it or is it repairable?

if there are a few filings on bottom of pan that is normal . have a transmission specialist scan for codes and give his opinion maybe an electrical problem.
