can you please give instructions how to reseal chain cover for engine 1ZZFE and what kind a sealer i need to use?

so there is no gasket . i need to use silicone right?

That is correct. There is seal for this one. It is a continuous bead of silicone. Don't worry if you get a skip in it. Just go back and fill in any points you missed. They say continuous but it doesn't need to be done in a continuous manner. It just needs to be a continuous bead when you are going to install it. Let me know if that doesn't make sense. Thanks

is there an alternative to the silicone i can use? that is antifreeze and oil resistant.

You need an RTV. Permatex says theirs works but I have not used it on a timing cover. I have not had luck with the gray Permatex but the black may hold up. If it were me, I would give it a try because I would not pay the $40.00 for the single tube of 3 bond from Toyota.
