Hi, i installed a new dashboard clock onto my vehicle listed above xtrailt30. However, after installation discovered that central locking isn't working. The hazards respond when i press the remote but does do not lock. Put back old dash to confirm and with old dash clock it worked. What can i do?

Can you supply the part number of better description of this clock that you installed?

Clearly it is the issue if the locks don't work with it installed but do work with the old unit, so we need to identify better what is involved with this part that you are replacing.

Basically, the smart entrance control unit is what controls the locks, so I suspect the part that you are installing doesn't play well with this module which is what we need to figure out.

I am attaching the info below on this unit and the wiring diagram that we will need to figure out what is missing with this replacement unit installed.

However, let's start with getting the part information so that we can figure out if it may just be the wrong part for this vehicle.

Thanks

Okay. Unfortunately, that is not going to be enough. Was this clock part of the cluster shown below?

We are just going to need to try and identify the part that you replaced so we can make sure it is the proper one for this vehicle. If it is then I suspect it is just faulty if the old one doesn't cause the issue.

Okay. It looks like that was out of a salvage yard. If so, then that is the issue, and I would return it.

It is hard to see the numbers, but I can see them enough to know that this is not the OEM part numbers. Those are supplier numbers and not the part number that will allow us to confirm what vehicle it came out of.

However, no matter what, it is not going to allow the locks to work so we need to return it. It is either out of a vehicle that does not have power locks, or there is an issue with it that is causing the locks to not work. So again, no matter which issue this is, it is clearly the issue and needs to be replaced.
