The rear door central locking motor quit, not wanting to spend $325.00 for new mechanism I bought a new motor only ($6.00).
After fitting new motor all works well except when using fob to lock and unlock the back door works opposite to other doors ie when locking, the back door unlocks. Have triple checked the motor and mechanism all good can only go one way. Is there a fob reset or computer reset? probably something so silly I am missing it. Any suggestions? TIA Shane.

Is the door in the diagram I show below the correct one?

What about picture #2?

(click on the diagrams at the bottom)

This actuator has two wires.

Basically a positive and a negative.

But, which is which?

Well, both are one or the other depending on the signal sent.

So one is positive to "lock" and the other is positive to "unlock"

It kind of does not care which is which!

So, with my confusing answer let's try swapping the two wires.

Now maybe the positive one will be right at the right time.

Let me know how it goes!

Thanks CJ. For the quick response. The actuator in photo is different, still only two wire (red and green ) but still swaps -and x to lock and unlock. Due to motor design I cannot get this wrong. Tried doing the timing thing but still out of phase. After posting this I did the ignition off and on eight times etc. etc., and it bought up a flashing light on the dash. A vehicle outline with a key inside it ( no engine check light )whether this is a check light or a immobilizer activate I am not sure. This light has not been seen before. I have just checked the owners manual, security system has been armed? any ideas to disarm? Still have my original problem cheers, Shane

To reset the alarm remove the negative battery cable for thirty minutes and reconnect. Then unlock the door on the drivers side using the key.

This guide can help:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-reset-a-security-system

On the phase problem just reverse the wires at the lock motor. Motors can be wound to go either direction and the one you have is going backwards.

Please let us know what happens so it will help others.
