When replacing the rear center cab window regulator, do you have to use rivets to refasten the window in place or can something else be used? Also, would you know this process step by step how to do this. Any information you can provide me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

Hi Scott,

Here is the process. To answer your question, it is highly recommended to use pop rivets on anything related to the window. Due to the amount of movement the window regulator and motor go through it is not a good idea to have a bolt and nut that could loosen then you have to go back in a re-torque them or worse yet repair something. Also, they usually use them because they don't have a lot of clearance on either side so they want something that lays pretty flat. With all that being said, it looks like the instructions don't tell you to drill any rivets only bolts so they may not use any rivets on this regulator.

Let me know if you need more information. Thanks
