hi, i think this fault is quite common as i see some on the post! but my question is that there is 2 part number for this and I am not sure which part to buy. the part that i found from the discussion of this forum has this 97031708500 and 97031708530. The gate way error due to the PDK calibration before there was not shown this fault. Also the Fault U0418 for the can this show since the beginning. What is the u0418 i know it is the can signal but what go wrong with this.
many thank

Hi Sooper,

Here are the descriptions for each part. Looks like one is for AWD and the other is RWD. Then attached you will find the diag for this code. Looks like it could be a general CAN fault or the stop lamp switch. The scan tool should define which it is and it looks like it is the CAN fault attachment. Let me know if you need more info. Thanks

Hi KASEKENNY1
Many thanks for your help. I also think that is the CAN Fault in the 1st place but after the calibration of the PDK the 3rd shift rod fault show so I though is the speed sensor.
what you think?
Cheers

So if these DTCs have not returned but if you have another can you tell me what the code is? I am just not familiar with the causes of the shift faults. I need to look it up. Thanks

What I meant was if you have other codes, I need to know what they are. The way I read your last post was that you had other faults. IF so, what are they and I will look them up.

Oh, at the moment i only have 2 fault code which is P1733 shift rod 3 displacement sensors and U0418 which is the CAN fault brake. At first it just show the U0418 but after when I calibrate the P1733 shows up. when I put into the D the car stand still no movement at all. The car cannot move since in the first place.
thank you very much for your help.

Okay. I would start with the P1733. I attached the description of the code. As you will see this code is going to limit the pressure regulator for gear selection which is why you are not getting any gears.

I am assuming this is why you put the PDK? It looks like this code is telling you it is one of three things.

1. The displacement sensor module.
2. line between the displacement sensor and PDK control unit.
3. PDK Transmission control unit.

Thanks for adding to this page. That is great info. I wasn't aware of this repair but it is not surprising the aftermarket came up with a better solution then what Porsche would recommend.

Thanks again for helping out with this info.
