Engine light stays on, idles rough

Good morning,

There are many reasons that could cause rough running. I attached a guide for you of possibilities.

I would check the compression to be sure the engine is still good. You should have 140-160 pounds in each cylinder.

Did you have the code checked for the engine light? I need that code to help narrow the area of failure.

Thank you for responding. I have taken it to a shop. I was charged for a leak in the manifold. Also replacing a coil. It still chokes out.
