Carburetor question

Do you have a vacuum line attached to the distributor?

It looks like the line for the vacuum advance.

I am attaching an exploded diagram of the carburetor for your Jeep. Hopefully you can make better sense of it. If I am reading it correctly, there should be an idle limiter screw in there, or it should be capped. But take a close look at it and see what you can figure out. Let us know what you find.

Thanks I will take a look. looking at this image (attached) it almost seems like "Choke Heat Tube Connection".

Am I missing something? I saw an open port at the base for a vacuum line that goes somewhere. I see the choke tube but that open fitting was not for that.

You might be right Roy. I am having a hard time figuring out exactly what is what there. But the diagram should (in theory) help.

That is for the automatic choke.

Do you have the electric part hooked up? That is a vacuum line and it connects to the stove under the choke on the intake manifold.

Do you happen to have an image (which shows "connects to the stove under the choke on the intake manifold"). Here is the picture of the choke. I did find one cable hanging which seems to fit right into the choke.

Does that wire have power with the key in the on position?

I do not have an image for the choke stove.

I will check other information systems.

I think its a manual choke. Electric choke that I see online have multiple electric wiring. The single cable I just plugged into it is for something else.

No, it is not manual.

It has a connection on the side for power to heat the spring inside the cover to help open it as it warms up.

Did you see any connection on the intake for the line to the choke with vacuum?

Thanks to everyone feedback. Here is what I ended up doing:

Still cannot figure out why air is coming out of it. This port is probably used to run a line from the manifold to the choke for heat choke setups. Having electric choke its possible this is not required. For now I just plugged it with red cap. Time to move on to the next issue. :-)

While you guys take a look at the attached image. Does the PCV valve shown in the picture should have a hose going into the air breather?

That is not a PCV line. That is a breather line and yes, it goes to the air filter assembly.

You do not have the stock assembly so I doubt there is a connection on that body.
