I’ve been driving the vehicle the past two days and had to turn the key and give it gas in order for it to start. I thought it was a fuel issue since I have a vapor lock because I can only put no more than 3.4 gallons in the tank or else it fills up at the filler neck and takes a long time for the fuel to go down. When I was ready to leave the gas station the car was going to turn over but when I tried the second time all the whining was all the noise it made. Got it towed home tried again still a whining noise. No clicking, just whining.

It sounds like the battery has gone bad. Here is a guide to help confirm the issue or you can remove the battery and have the auto parts store test it for you.

The battery can’t be going bad. I just bought a new one not too long ago. The noise that the vehicle makes when turning the key is the sound the starter makes but not engaging to the flywheel.

It can be a bad connection at the battery, also can you use a voltmeter to see what the standing voltage is at the battery, I have seen new batteries be defective FYI.

Please go over these two guides:
