Car wont start even with a jump, no lights on dash?

Car wouldn't start Tuesday evening, called breakdown they advised me I needed a new battery. Bought a new battery and two days later car wont start. not a budge out of it, wont jump and no lights on dash, key car is locking and unlocking all doors except for the boot. Only had the instrument panel changed in April 13

I had this problem as well. I had to replace the alternator FYI cost me $145.00 all fixed.
