The car will not start at all, it cranks but there is no spark or fuel pump engaging. Everything on the car is in good condition but the ecu is shorting out because the battery feed to the ecu goes from 12.8v to 2v when all the plugs are plugged into the ecu. None of the wires are shorting out until they are plugged into the ecu. There were three pins in the ECU that were burnt out but I resoldered them and it still won’t start or give an engine light at ignition. Do I need to replace the ECU, if so what's the process with things like immobilizer and key to work with new ECU.

The ECU is plug and play so no programming is needed. But I have seen if a fuel injector, oxygen sensor or ignition coil is shorted it will cause the ECU to put out low voltage. I would unplug these items to see if the voltage returns. Also, can you run the codes to see if any are stored?

Here is how to replace the ECU in case you need it. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what you find.

I got it running by running a separate 12v wire with a fuse straight to the ecu the old battery feed must have been damaged somewhere and couldn’t give enough current. I now have code p0405.
