Push button start along with key start:

Drove my car to a baseball game one evening about two weeks ago. After the game I tried to start it using the key and nothing happens. It doesn't even attempt to start. The dashboard lights up but none of the symbols appear as (brake, check engine, oil, coolant, etc.). I press the push button start and once again nothing happens. I tried just turning it so that ignition is on and once again nothing happens, no symbols are anything. I pressed the push button with my foot off the brakes and still nothing. Yesterday I removed the battery and brought it to AutoZone to get it checked out. The battery was at 17 percent when I dropped it off. Came back about 1 1/2 hour later and it was still at 17% so I bought a new battery. Installed the new battery and still nothing happens. I tried using my vag scan but it doesn't link because the ignition isn't on.

Hello,

This sounds to me like you have got a short to power somewhere in the circuit between the battery and the ignition switch. In the diagrams down below I have included a wiring diagram of your vehicle's starting circuit. I would start by check your vehicle's battery interrupt igniter which is in the main fuse panel. Please get back to us with what you are able to find out.

Thanks,
Alex
