Car wont catch park or drive

Hey! So my car wont catch park or drive but, it catches reverse just fine. The gear selector feels stiff when I am trying to put it into park or drive. What could be wrong and how would I go about fixing it? Thank you guys

Sounds like the shifter cable is fraying apart on one end. Disconnect it at the transmission, then see how freely the shifter works.
