Car will start and immediately shut off

When the engine stalls can you still hear the fuel pump in the back running. Also is the security light flashing?

You can hear the fuel pump but no red security light. I was told it could be a bad crankshaft sensor!

Yep, that is what it sounds like but we should run the codes first. here is a guide:

If no codes are up which a bad crankshaft sensor will set no codes. here is a guide to help walk you through the job and the location of the sensor on your car in the diagrams below:
