Car will not go into gear

The other gears work okay? if so it sounds like the shift linkage/cables are out of adjustment or need to be replaced or one of the cables has popped off the transmission or shifter. Here are instructions in the diagrams below to show you how to fix the problem. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can see what's going on? that would be great. You can upload it here with your response. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Thank you! Tried to attach a video on the original post but looks like it hasn’t posted. It is engaging 3rd and 4th gear without any trouble, just the other ones it is popping out of. Will have a look but will probably need to get a mechanic out. Are the problems you listed a big/expensive job or an easy fix?

Thanks for the video, it looks like one of the cable has popped off either from the transmission or gear selector. I would take just enough apart so you can see the mechanism and look for the cable connections.
