Car will not start?

I thought it was the battery, so I bought a new battery but now after running the engine is revving up and down and then slowly begins to shut off and when that happens I pump the gas and it acts as though it’s getting no gas at all and then shuts off.

Hi,

Based on your description, it sounds like it is running out of fuel. Have you checked the fuel pressure to see if it is low/weak? If you haven't that is where I recommend starting. Here is a link that explains how, in general, to check fuel pressure:

You will need a fuel pressure gauge for this, but most parts stores will lend one to you.

If you look at pic 1 below, I circled where the fuel pressure gauge will attach. Pic 2 shows the manufacturer's fuel pressure specifications.
