When transmission is shifted into drive the vehicle shuts off

We need to start with a vacuum leak. Does the engine idle ok in park or is it rough? Any check engine light?

Start with using the carburetor cleaner and spray around the intake to see if the RPM goes up. If it does then this is where you leak is.
