Will not stay running after overheating and head gasket replacement

Overheating caused the head gasket to burn. Hence a need for replacement.after replacing the head gasket, mechanic coupled back to test run the engine. The engine will start for a while and stop. At times we need to place leg on accelerator to prevent the engine from stopping.

When you replaced the head gasket, did you check the head with a straight edge?

If the head is warped then there could be all sorts of different issues. Here is a guide that talks about stalling at idle issues:
